HELP OUT THIS SITE BY MAKING PURCHASES! Better than Ezra, Transmatic take tour to Carroll, April 23 By Amanda Bothe and Teresa Dickert Staff Writers Did you get your tickets yet? Well, if you didn't you better hurry, because they are selling fast. And yes, Better Than Ezra will be here, at Carroll College on Tuesday, April 23, playing in the Shattuck Auditorium. Kevin Griffen, Tom Drummond and Travis McNabb make up the band. Kevin writes the songs, plays guitar and sings. You'll find Tom on bass and Travis will be rockin' away on the drums. Better Than Ezra originated in New Orleans and released their first album, Deluxe, in 1994. The alternative charts picked up the single, "Good," from that album and made it a success. Just in case you need a reminder... "Aha it was good, living with you. Aha, it was good." In 1996, they released their second album, Friction Baby, which produced the single, "Desperately Wanted." Two years later, they delivered their third album, "How Does You Garden Grow." The single, "At the Stars," was named on Billboard's top 100 songs of the year list. After splitting from their current label, Elektra, Better than Ezra self-released the album, "Artifakt." Not widely known, the songs were only available online and at concerts. In 2001, the band signed with an independent label, Beyond Music, and months later their current hit, "Extra Ordinary," was heard on airwaves across the country. If you're a fan of the song, it can be heard on their current album, "Closer." So, if you're one of those students that complains of having nothing to do on campus, you need to some tickets and go to the show! For news or lyrics check out their website www.betterthanezra.com.
