HELP OUT THIS SITE BY MAKING PURCHASES! Open the door for a little "Boo" at Monsters, Inc. By Teresa Dickert Staff Writer For years, children have feared that moment after mom or dad tuck them in for the night, and shut the door, leaving them all alone with the monsters in their closet or under their bed. Truth be told, the monsters are not there because they like to scare, but because they have to scare. At Monsters, Inc. (MI) James P. Sullivan (John Goodman), or Sully as the leader board displays, is the Top Scarer at MI. Sully, a big purple-spotted, blue monster, could not have done it without the help of others. His green, one-eyed sidekick Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) retrieves the closet doors and caps the scream's energy capsules while his foremost, rival Randall Boggs (Steve Buscemi) pushes him to scare more and more children at an increasingly faster rate. Together they work at the largest scream-processing factory in the monster realm, where each child's scream contributes to safe and efficient power for the city. However, the job does not come without hazards. Letting a child or their things touch a monster is known to be fatal, but with the Child Detection Agency (CDA) in force, problems with children encounters and human things (a sock, for instance) are kept in check Until one day when Sully accidentally opens a door and a four-year old girl enters the monster world. The adorable little girl mistakes the softhearted Sully for a "kitty," and playfully attacks his tail. Laughs abound as the comical, little human finds her way into the heart of the big ol' monster that affectionately names her Boo (Mary Gibbs). Sully determined to find Boo's home and return her safely is in for quite a journey as he soon realizes the larger conspiracy. Monsters, Inc., presented by Pixar Animation and Walt Disney Pictures, is a pleasant adventure for the "child who is afraid of monsters" in all of us. |
