"So from skater to goth model...what sort of transformative events brought the new Geek to life?" (from Albee)
I still enjoy skating, but haven't continued due to lack of time and money (more so the money)... and also partially due to enhanced issues with my exercise-induced asthma (yah, I know how cheesy the 'infliction' sounds... and how much of a pussy one would think I am for saying it affects me as such).

Being very general I can say that I have always been 'goth' in as much as enjoying the music and style... etc, but being underage one can't enjoy clubs or much in the way of public entertainment. Hence, it wasn't worthwhile to own much 'club' clothing. My hair stayed natural because I liked to please my rents, and I told myself I wouldn't do anything they considered "outrageous" or "unnecessary" until after I graduated. Immediately afterwards, my hair went black, I was on my way to college, and I did things to please myself and not my parents (granted they still cared about my grades and the kind of person I am, but that wasn't going to change in any way major).

Over time I decided that I wanted to try modeling out... I saw a lot of people trying to be models that I think I could be "better" than, and seeing as I have always been admittedly a bit on the competitive side, I went for it. These days it depends on how much time I have... but I believe I'm getting better and better, and look forward to the images that a photographer and I produce. In addition, the modeling has kept me thinking somewhat higher of myself than I would be otherwise, as I seem to gain more praise from images than negative feedback. ;}

"How many stalkers do you have now?" (from Albee)
Stalkers? I don't really know. I get a few e-mails from time to time from people that want signed pictures (which, doh, I haven't really responded to), but outright stalkers? ... they must be doing a good job because I don't really know of any. ;P Although I am sure nothing like Josie Nutter or Madame Archel. Hee! ;}

"... where did the name Geekers come from?" (from Rya Storm)
Actually got it when I was still an inline speed skater and one of the judges who came from our rink used to call me 'geekers' because I was the biggest geek of the team. I would work on homework during skating sessions and skating meets if I had to. I had so much to do because I was in a zillion extracurriculars and every AP (Advanced Placement) class available so every spare second of time was usually filled with some type of homework, and yet I still wouldn't get everything done. I even did homework in choir sometimes... much to my directors chagrin. ;}

In addition to that, considering I never had a computer in my life at this time, I was still asked for computer help. I wasn't really the biggest computer geek, but I had more knowledge than many of the people around me, so I was asked for a great deal of help both by those I knew on the team/at the rink, and teachers/fellow students at school.

Anyway, I got the name from that speed-skating judge because I was such a capital D, dork, and got all the good grades. ;P Originally he used it to bother me, but somewhere there was an affinity between myself and the name. ^_^

"So why do you use the name as your online moniker?" (from myself)
My first time in a chat I was thinking of things people called me, and besides "geekers," the only other nicknames I was coming up with were "speedy" (lovingly bestowed upon me because I was actually the slowest person on team to lace up my skates and be ready for a practice or race, and ditto that after a speed skating meet) and "squirt" (I was the littlest person forEVER and everyone always thought I was in elementary school even when I was in Junior HS). Hence, I used geekers.

I used a variety of names online in my past (most I aquired from other users while I was using geekers), but this one was most "me" that is stuck. Other names I had online were skerrytonguegrrl, zybergoth, lildeadgrrl, spankthemonkeygrrl, and gooniegrrl (this one being stolen from the name I gave my rat, Goonie).

If I were to continue the trend of using names others bestowed on me, I would be also using MissRepresent; a title I aquired during my photo shoot with photo_obscura at C9. ^_~

"Why don't you want children?" (from Michael Woodward)
I have several reasons for not wanting children. (1) I don't think I would be a very good parent. I can't put up with the gooeyness and whininess of a child. I would be impressed to see them make it past the age of three. (2) I am selfish. I want to spend money on me and toys for myself. I don't think I have to expand on this reason. (3) I am one of the crowd that believes there are too many children already... too many people overall. I don't want to contribute to that issue. If this were the only reason, however, I would have no qualms about adopting. (4) I value my time. I don't want to give up years and years of my life dedicating my time to spawnlings. (5) I don't want the responsibility. Perhaps this also goes along the lines of selfish with my money and time, but I fail to see where being legally responsible for what others do is something one would want. (6) I see no redeeming factors. I don't think a child/children would make my life more fulfilling... I fail to see "the cuteness" in most, if not damn near all, children... etc. I only see what I have listed above, and more annoyances. *shrugs* /// Ah yes, and a side note: I have thought this way for quite sometime, and no matter what my parents hope or say, nothing will change my wishes.

"Are you left-handed or is anyone in your direct blood-line a lefty?" (from britenfp)
I am, in fact, left-handed for most things. Most importantly, I eat and write with my left hand. For some things, like tennis, I am both-handed. It depends on the day for which hand I am more comfortable using. I think that overall, depending on how much dexterity I need in what I am doing determines which hand I use. For example, something more tedious like crocheting (I tried to learn, but anyone willing to teach me was always a righty and couldn't do so... suck!) requires me to use my left hand, while something such as batting (I was in softball for some time), I am a righty. My sister is also left-handed, but hardly any one else in my bloodline is at all. We are quite the family freaks. ;P

"Name a song that makes you remember something happy when you hear it." (from Absinthea)
Sorry, but you're getting more than one here since I couldn't decide and the fact that more than one came to mind was something kinda happymaking to me...

* Technotronic- Pump Up the Jam // Reminds me of my best friend when I was younger and I jam skating on our quads. Despite the fact that this relationship turned more than sour, this was a happy time during the friendship.
* Proclaimers- 500 Miles // Reminds me of one of probably 3 people that made me content in Jr. High.
* Joan Osborne - St. Teresa // Reminds me of my good friend Magdelene in a time in my life a really needed a friend.
* Train - Drops of Jupiter // Reminds me of my good friend Tracie when I was almost stuck in D.C. with not a friend in the world, but then she came through to offer me a place to stay when I didn't really know her. The song itself reminds me of a small party at one of her friends. ... mew.

"Monkeys. Pro or con? Discuss." (from DJ Eternal Darkness)
Pro, of course. Who isn't in favor of monkeys? I used to collect stuffed munkees for jeesuz' sake... I was "spankthemonkeygrrl" among many other handles in my Internet youth. And really, that handle ONLY had to do with the stuffed munkees, I SWEAR! ;}
